Equine Medical Conditions

Please call us right away if your horse exhibits signs of an illness (such as loss of appetite or fever), suffers an injury, shows signs of physical discomfort, or if you feel that something isn’t quite right. You know your horse better than anyone else, and we will take your concerns seriously.

Medical conditions that affect horses include (but aren’t limited to) the following:

• Colic
• Pleural pneumonia

• Corneal ulcers

• Respiratory problems

Geriatric Medicine

Horses over 15 are considered seniors and may benefit from bi-annual wellness visits. It’s important to routinely assess your older horse’s diet and activity level, and make appropriate adjustments when needed. Our goal is to help your horse age as comfortably as possible, so that he or she can enjoy the golden years to the fullest.

When we examine your senior horse, we’ll also be on the lookout for the following chronic conditions:

• Arthritis
• Colic
• Cushing’s disease
• Equine Metabolic Syndrome
• And an array of disorders that affect the major systems of the body

Reproductive Services

When it’s time to breed your mare, we can help by first assessing her overall health and reproductive fitness, as well as advising you as to the best method for your individual mare.

We offer the following reproductive services:

• Artificial insemination
• Ultrasound /transrectal ultrasound
• Pregnancy checks
