Please contact us at the earliest sign of illness or injury. Our trucks are equipped with everything we need to evaluate your horse’s condition in the field and provide effective therapeutic treatments.

Diagnostics

Accurate diagnostics are critical for identifying the cause of your horse’s discomfort. We can perform the following tests in the field:

  • Digital X-rays: We have the most sophisticated digital x-ray equipment available. Extremely valuable for assessing lameness, arthritis, hoof conditions, fractures, foreign bodies, and more.
  • Ultrasound: Ideal for evaluating pregnancies, locating tumors, and identifying the cause of colic.
  • Endoscopy/Gastroscopy: For inspection and diagnosis of ulcers of the soft palate, respiratory issues, guttural pouch mycosis, gastric ulcers, and more.
  • SAA (Serum Amyloid A): This simple blood test reveals the presence of infections in very early stages.
  • Bloodwork: A complete blood count and chemistry panel gives us a wealth of information about your horse’s red and white blood-cell counts, liver and kidney health, blood sugar, protein levels, and much more.

Therapeutics

For relief from injuries and other conditions, we offer the following treatments:

  • Shock Wave: This cutting-edge technology uses ultrasonic waves to increase blood flow to an area and stimulate healing. Effective in treating musculoskeletal problems and injuries to soft tissues and bones.
  • Acupuncture: Dr. Ashley Troncatty offers acupuncture to relieve pain and muscle soreness, treat anxiety, and mitigate the symptoms of many other conditions.
  • Regenerative Medicine: This branch of medicine makes use of the body’s own cells or mechanisms to regenerate tissues, muscles, and sometimes even bones. At Equine Sports Medicine, we offer platelet-rich plasma therapy, IRAP® treatments, and stem cell therapy.
  • Cold Laser Therapy: This therapy uses targeted light wavelengths to increase circulation to an area and promote healing.
  • Game Ready® Equine Hydrotherapy: The Game Ready system applies cold and compression to help with post-workout therapy, chronic and acute lameness, cellulitis, tendonitis, pre- and post-operative care, and bowed tendons.
